Our Story

In 1988, Robert Rexer purchased the property formerly known as Crossroads Farm, which had been a farm since 1860. The farm originally focused on locally grown produce, nursery stock, fresh eggs, and baked goods. In 2019, Robert and his daughters reimagined the business, expanding it into what it is today, Rexer Family Farm. Robert's sister, Elizabeth, manages day-to-day operations, with various nieces and nephews working the farm daily — in addition to a dedicated staff.
Today, the farm cultivates a variety of produce and flowers and bakes an array of goods, including quiches, pies, scones, cookies, donuts, chicken pot pie, and hand pies. The kitchen is also known for its chicken salad, hummus, soups, and seasonal salads. Chickens supply fresh eggs, and on-site beehives produce honey. Rounding out the offerings, the farm sells grass-fed beef, roasted chickens, and a selection of pantry staples.
Rexer Family Farm sits on three acres, with two acres under active cultivation, including two greenhouses that support year-round vegetable production.

FAQs
Is the farm organic?
We are not certified organic. We practice organic farming methods. We do not use any synthetic chemicals or fertilizers on the farm. We source our seeds from organic suppliers.
Do you grow all your produce?
Any produce we grow is labeled as our own in the store. We do buy-in from our trusted farm partners as well.
Who are your trusted farm partners?
Produce we don't grow ourselves is sourced either from certified organic farms (labeled as such) or from local NY and Pennsylvania farms we've built long-standing relationships with over the years. For example, we buy our apples and peaches from Richter's Farm in East Northport. Supporting local, organic agriculture is our priority.
Do you offer "You-Pick"?
We do not offer "You-Pick".
Can I walk around the farm?
Yes! The farm has designated walking areas and a beautiful patio overlooking our cut-flower garden.
Do you offer farm tours?
Yes! Farm tours should be booked in advance by contacting hello@rexerfarmilyfarm.com. Our farm is a working farm, and it's small, so tours are limited to a number of people and are 45 min long.
What goes on in the barn?
The barn has had many lives; it is currently a small event space available for rent. Inquiries should email hello@rexerfamilyfarm.com
